On October 1, a new game Call of Duty: Mobile was rolled out by Activision Blizzard. The game, available in all regions that support Google Play and App Store, except China, Vietnam, and Belgium, has managed to reach 100 million installs just one week after it was launched. This incredible number of downloads in such a short period of time makes a new record in the gaming industry and allows us to consider Call of Duty: Mobile the best launch of a mobile game the world has ever seen.

Randy Nelson, who is in charge of mobile insights at Sensor Tower, commented:
“This is by far the largest mobile game launch in history in terms of the player base that’s been built in the first week.”
To compare, another famous game “Mario Kart Tour” reached 90 million downloads in its first seven days. The initial performance of “Fortnite” picked up 22.5 million installs, “Pokemon Go” was downloaded 85.5 million times during the first week. Another rival “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” achieved 28 million unique downloads.
According to the data from Sensor Tower, 55.7% of the total downloads of Call of Duty: Mobile are coming from iOS (or 56.9 million installs), and 44.3% (45.3 million downloads) are left for Android. As far as geography is considered, the game is enjoying high popularity in the US, with 17.3 million installs (16.9% of the total downloads). Then follow India (13.7 million downloads, or 13.4%) and Brazil (7.1 million downloads, or 7%).
Call of Duty: Mobile beats its competitors not only by the number of downloads but also in terms of first-week gross revenue. During the first seven days after the launch, Call of Duty: Mobile gained $17.7 million in player spending, which means its average gross revenue per download made up around $0.17. The revenue from the App Store accounted for $9.1 million (or 53%), while Android users brought in $8.3 million (47%). The US. generated the biggest revenue, with players in the country spending $7.6 million (43.1% of the overall gross). Japan has taken the second position with $2.4 million (or 13.7%0, then followed Brazil with $848,000 (4.8%).
Call of Duty: Mobile has surpassed Epic Games and PUBG Mobile that received around $2.3 million and $600,000 from the App Store accordingly.
